The Culture of Turkey and Turkish Acculturation in the United States
With one foot in Europe and one in the Middle East, Turkey belongs to both worlds. This is reflected in its culture and traditions, some of which are described in this paper. The acculturation of immigrant groups, and Turks in particular, is discussed, and the role of technology and associations in maintaining and preserving cultural traditions. Music, dress, the family, and the role of women are addressed.
