Summary: This paper will address the roles women have been portrayed as in film. A brief history of how they have been portrayed will be presented. Then women in cinema in the Western, Eastern and Latin American cultures will be examined. The information will be provided in a factual fashion void of opinions. As well, the paper will offer this information in a cause and effect style. The information will be presented in an objective nature. In addition it will compare and analyze the similarities and differences of how women are portrayed in films.
