Some Similar Major Practices of Roman Catholics and Saivite Hindus.
Religions can influence human behavior and perceptions powerfully by way of their required practices that can involve a full round of seasonal observances, as well as everyday practices that reinforce religions and the outlooks of their adherents. In examining, Hinduism and Christianity in the light of their major practice, concentration has been placed upon the particular forms of Roman Catholic Christianity and Saivite Hinduism. As both religions are to be found in India at the present time, in places this paper discusses ecumenical work now underway on the part of the Indian Catholic Church in order to demonstrate some workable similarities between faiths which are not always apparent to those who observe them. 10.5 pgs. 8 f/c.9b.
