Christians and Suicide: Mortal Sin or Mental Illness
This paper examines the concept of suicide in the Christian tradition in respect to the moral issue of insanity, where those that survive suicide are often demonstrated to be unsound mentally and therefore not entirely in control of their personal facilities. This concept is controversial, where the different schools of Christian thought tend to address suicide as a mortal sin yet there are differences in the severity of this sin between Catholic and Protestant denominations. 6 pgs.
