This paper answers five basic sociology discussion questions. The first is a discussion of Durkheim's four functions of deviance, how they are relevant to rock and roll in the 1950s, and marijuana use today. The second is a contrast of the three major paradigms in society and how they are related to sexuality. The third is how family, peers, school, or media have affected the personal gender role. The fourth is a discussion of the terms: race, prejudice, stereotype, discrimination, assimilation, and pluralism. In addition, the fifth question deals with the unrealistic expectations of marriage and family today in the US.
