Schizophrenia is a brain disorder whose victims suffer from everything from violent behavior to hallucinations and delusions, as well as slowed speech, apathy and emotional unresponsiveness. The disorder is at least partly inherited, and while there is no cure yet, there are effective treatments that minimize or alleviate the symptoms, enabling the patient to lead at least a somewhat normal life. 8 pgs.
