Critical Review of the ASVAB, Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery
In this paper we will provide a critical review of the Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery, also know as the ASVAB. We will explain what the test is attempting to assess, look at the theoretical background driving the testing device and explain the development of the test. Then we will examine whether this test does what it is suppose to do. We will also examine issues of scoring, administration of the test and interpretation of the scores. Finally we will identify the tests strengths and weaknesses. In the final section we will explain how it can eb useful for a high school counselor.
