This paper considers ways in which consciousness may be undergoing change because of the sue of technology, considering this in terms of cognition, perception, memory, and the sense of self, all manifestations of consciousness; and noting first the problems with defining consciousness, perceiving it in someone else, and even perceiving it in machines.
