The Nationwide Fluoridation Debate: An Analysis of Merit
This thirteen page undergraduate paper examines fluoridation issues. The author notes that fluoridation, which has been found to be effective in reducing tooth decay, has been a widely debated issue around the world since its introduction more than fifty years ago. While fluoride is a natural ingredient in tea, seafood, and other food groups, and has been added to some brands of tooth paste, the nationwide introduction of fluoride into public drinking water supplies has been a controversial, topic for a variety of health related and political reasons.
