This paper discusses the idea that nurses do not use theory or research in their practice. They take the position that they do even if they call it something else because they were trained in both, theory and research. Nurses state that they are influenced by both so they apply what they have learned in their training, and that training included a good deal of theoretical instruction and analysis.
