Nurses Attitudes Towards HIV/AIDS and How it Affects the Care of the Client.
It will be argued here that nurses have a very important role in promoting education on HIV/AIDS, not only so they can be of more use to the patients they care for, but so society at large can break through the fear of this disease; a fear that unnecessarily adds to the burden AIDS places on society. The attitudes and responses that nurses have to HIV/AIDS patients should reflect the normative views of society towards the disease. This means that nurses should be knowledgeable about the disease, be empathetic and supportive, and play a pro-active role in helping patients achieve the highest possible state of wellbeing. 5.5 pgs. 10 f/c. 5b.
