This paper will present an examination of a cultural assessment within Puerto Rican culture. A definition of social and cultural concepts and their impact on health in the culture will be discussed. An analysis of social and cultural influences in family and social organization will also encompass the discussion. An analysis of cross-cultural similarities and conceptualization of roles, expectations, beliefs and practices pertinent to healthcare will also be presented.
