Prison as a Narrative Tool in Kiss of the Spider Woman
This paper reflects upon the use of the prison as chronotope in Kiss of the Spider Woman, particularly in regards to the characterization Puig applies to Valentin and Molina and how the setting of the prison forces specific, unconventional behaviors from them. Other devices of the prison as a narrative tool will also be included in this paper, such as the use of prison as a sanctuary.
