Literary Criticism: The Theme of Feminism in the Writings of Joyce Carol Oates
In this paper we have defined how critics agree and disagree on the short stories and novels of Joyce Carol Oates. By effectively understanding the varying aspects of gender roles in OatesÂ’ feminist perspective she shows the liberation of women from patriarchal violence and misogyny, but critics disagree on imposing these values on both sexes. This is how critical perspectives can be presented in light of the writings of Joyce Carol Oates within the feminist literary tradition.
