Literary Analysis: Individuality, Uniqueness and Imperfection in Good Country People by Flannery OConnor
This paper will seek to understand O'Connor's main character Hulga in "Good Country People". We can judge Hulgas uniqueness, individuality, and imperfections by her inability to trust others as a disabled person. Her own suffering clouds her own judgment, and ultimately she is incapable of being pragmatic, as she avows from her philosophical studies. This is how we can realize Hulga as an intellectual, but without the proper life experience to help her see through religious frauds.
