A Reading Of The Works Of Virginia Hamilton In Terms Of Multicultural Literature
Virginia Hamilton's books suggest a far more complex approach to multicultural literature. This paper will argue that the importance of Hamilton's work is that she depicts African Americans, not in terms of their collective race, but in terms of their individual humanity. This is not, of course, to say that issues of race and racism do not occur in her works. 14 pgs. 17 f/c. 5b.
