Motivation is the key to students being successful in academics and socially in the classroom. A large number of students more than one in four leave school before graduating. Many more are physically present in the classroom but largely mentally absent; they fail to invest themselves fully in the experience of learning (Lumsden 92). Who is responsible for a students motivation in the classroom? Parents? Teachers? Students? Peers? Any of these are correct; the alternative approach to students being motivated is getting the whole community involved. This means the community outside the classroom, parents, teachers, and students. Research shows that community involvement can be the key to students being motivated and successful.
