This paper is a rationale paper for a botany and zoology curriculum in a Montessori setting. Botany and zoology is a standard component of the science curriculum in Montessori education, but it also follows all of the concepts that are generally a part of Montessori education. These concepts include the education of the senses, sensitive periods, and the distinct role of the teacher.
