The relationships between men and women in Shakespeare's "King Lear", John Milton's "Paradise Lost" and James Joyce's "Ulysses" all reflect certain power structures in the context of gender. But they also reveal the main ingredients of the human condition, as love and forgiveness also play vital roles. To be sure, these realities are about power, but they entail human dynamics as well, which include every aspect of male-female relationships.
