To enter into another culture is to enter a world of beliefs and traditions which may be very different from those that shaped us. Our attitude to that culture--Have we come willingly? Are we happy to be here?--and that culture's attitude to us--Are we welcome?--will go a long way towards ensuring a successful adaptation to that culture.
