The Effect of Two Congressional Acts on Civil Liberties and Immigration to the United States
This paper will analyze the inception of two recent bills proposed in Congress that would work to effectively nullify many of the totalitarian elements of the Patriot Act (2001) that was pushed through Congress in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States. Specifically, the paper will examine the impact that these reforms will have on civil liberties and will examine the implications for immigration.
