This paper is an examination of anecdotal evidence concerning drug use and culture in the United States. It describes the experiences that Robert had with a roommate who became more and more entrenched in a sub cultural group that stressed heavy drug use. The paper analyzes this group's experiences and behaviours and attempts some larger points about the difficulties in altering the behaviour of drug users.
